We pulled up at another 'brown sign' which pointed us towards the Hag of Beara. After a short walk we discovered what that was. One of the oldest mythological beings in Ireland, Chailleach Bhearra. She lived mostly at Kilcatherine (the Eyeries Parish). The story goes that with the arrival of Christianity, she was turned into a white/grey pillar stone now called the Hag of Beara.
